Gold Line Therapy
Therapy for Individuals & Couples in Oklahoma City & Edmond
In-Person Therapy in Oklahoma City and Online Counseling Throughout Oklahoma.
Life doesn't always unfold the way we expected. Relationships change. Old patterns surface. Experiences leave their mark. Sometimes we simply realize that the way we've been living isn't working anymore. At Gold Line Therapy, we provide thoughtful, compassionate counseling for adults and couples who want to better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, heal from difficult experiences, and create meaningful change.
There is Meaning in the Repair
Gold Line Therapy takes its name from Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold.Rather than disguising the places where something has been fractured, Kintsugi honors the repair allowing those lines to become part of the object's story. We believe therapy can work in much the same way.Our experiences shape us, but they don't have to define what comes next. Therapy creates space to understand what happened, recognize patterns that may no longer serve you, reconnect with yourself and others, and decide intentionally how you want to move forward. The goal isn't to erase the past. It's to create something meaningful from what comes next.
How We Can Help
People come to therapy for many different reasons. You don't need to have everything figured out before you begin.
Individual Therapy

Sometimes you know exactly what's bothering you. Other times you simply know something feels off.Individual counseling can help you explore anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationships, identity, life transitions, loneliness, self-worth, burnout, or patterns that seem to keep repeating.Therapy offers a place to slow things down, become curious about what's happening beneath the surface, and develop a better understanding of yourself.
Couples Therapy

Relationships can become disconnected long before either person knows exactly how it happened.Couples therapy can help partners understand recurring conflict, improve communication, rebuild emotional connection, navigate intimacy concerns, work through major transitions, and develop healthier patterns of relating to one another. We work with married, unmarried, and partnered adults at many different stages of their relationships.
Infidelity & Betrayal

Infidelity can disrupt nearly every assumption a person has about their relationship.Whether you are the betrayed partner, the partner who was unfaithful, or you're trying to understand together what happens next, therapy can provide a place to process the emotional impact without rushing toward a predetermined outcome. Our work may involve understanding what happened, addressing secrecy and broken trust, exploring attachment patterns, rebuilding communication, and determining what healing looks like for you individually or as a couple.
Trauma & EMDR

Experiences from the past can continue influencing how we feel, respond, and connect with others long after the experience itself has ended.Trauma therapy can help you understand these responses and develop new ways of relating to difficult memories, emotions, and beliefs.EMDR is one approach available at Gold Line Therapy for working with trauma and other distressing experiences.
Intimacy & Sex Therapy

Sexual concerns are often difficult to talk about, even with the people closest to us.Therapy can provide a confidential, judgment-free environment to discuss intimacy, desire differences, sexual functioning, sexual shame, communication, identity, compulsive sexual behaviors, relationship agreements, or changes in your sexual relationship.Sex therapy is talk therapy. There is no sexual contact or sexual activity between therapist and client.
Life Transitions & Stress

Not every person who comes to therapy is experiencing a crisis.Sometimes life looks fine from the outside while something inside feels unsettled.Career changes, becoming a parent, relationship transitions, success, aging, loss, burnout, entrepreneurship, or simply asking "Is this really the life I want?" can bring people into therapy. You don't need a perfect explanation for why you're here.
Meet the Therapists
Different therapists bring different experiences, personalities, and specialties to the room. Finding someone you feel comfortable talking with matters.
Arly Smart, LPC

When trust has been broken in a relationship, it can feel as though the ground underneath you has disappeared.I specialize in working with individuals and couples navigating infidelity, betrayal, relationship difficulties, and the process of rebuilding trust. My approach is attachment-based and focuses on helping clients better understand the patterns that influence how they respond to one another, particularly during moments of hurt, fear, disconnection, and uncertainty. For couples experiencing infidelity, therapy may involve understanding what happened, processing the emotional impact, addressing unanswered questions, exploring attachment dynamics, and determining what healing and the future of the relationship may look like.I bring both professional training and personal understanding to this work, and I believe that even when the path forward isn't yet clear, healing is possible.Areas of focus:
Infidelity • Betrayal Trauma • Couples Therapy • Relationship Issues • Attachment • Rebuilding Trust • Marital & Premarital Counseling
Piyush Patel, Ph.D., LPCC

I believe some of the most important things affecting our lives are often the things we have the hardest time talking about. My work is grounded in a psychodynamic approach, meaning we'll pay attention not only to what is happening now, but also to the patterns, relationships, experiences, and beliefs that may be shaping how you experience yourself and others.I work with adults and couples around relationships, intimacy, trauma, anxiety, life transitions, self-worth, sexuality, and feeling stuck. I have advanced training in sex therapy, EMDR, and couples therapy. Before becoming a therapist, I spent much of my career as an entrepreneur, educator, author, and business leader. That experience also gives me a firsthand understanding of the ways achievement, responsibility, identity, loneliness, and relationships can become intertwined. You don't need to know exactly what you want to say when you walk through the door.We can start there.Areas of focus:
Individual Therapy • Couples Therapy • Relationship Issues • Intimacy & Sexuality • Trauma & EMDR • Anxiety • Life Transitions • Entrepreneurs & Professionals
What Therapy Is Like at Gold Line
Therapy doesn't have to feel clinical, mysterious, or intimidating. You can expect conversation, curiosity, thoughtful questions, and a therapist who is willing to sit with the things that may be difficult to say somewhere else. Our therapists don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Some sessions may involve understanding the past. Others may focus on something happening in your life right now. Sometimes the most useful work is noticing a pattern you've repeated for years without realizing it.The goal is not simply to tell you what to do.It's to help you better understand yourself, your relationships, and the choices available to you.
Frequently Asked Questions
I've never been to therapy. What should I expect?Being nervous before your first therapy appointment is completely normal. The first session is primarily a conversation. We'll talk about what brought you to therapy, what's currently happening in your life, some relevant history, and what you'd like to be different. You don't need to prepare a speech, know your diagnosis, or have everything figured out.Showing up is enough to begin.
Do you work with both individuals and couples?Yes. Gold Line Therapy provides counseling for both individual adults and couples. Some people come specifically for relationship counseling, while others begin individually to better understand patterns affecting their relationships, emotional wellbeing, or personal lives.

What is couples therapy like?Couples therapy isn't about deciding who is right and who is wrong.Instead, we look at what's happening between you the patterns of communication, conflict, attachment, emotional responses, intimacy, trust, and the ways each partner tries to feel heard, understood, or safe. Our goal is to create a space where both partners can talk honestly and begin understanding the relationship differently.
What is EMDR?EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a structured therapy approach commonly used to help people process traumatic or distressing experiences that continue to affect thoughts, emotions, beliefs, or reactions. If EMDR seems appropriate for what you're experiencing, your therapist can explain the process and determine whether it's a good fit.
What happens in sex therapy?Mostly, we talk.Sex therapy is psychotherapy focused on sexuality, intimacy, relationships, sexual functioning, desire, sexual communication, identity, or other concerns involving your sexual wellbeing. There is no sexual contact or sexual activity between therapist and client. And you will never be expected to discuss something before you're ready.
